Earth Spirit

The Earth Spirit is a heavenly spirit, Third Class License. He is tasked with ensuring the health of the earth and soil. We first meet him while Megumi is apartment hunting. He has been scaring everyone out of that apartment room, because his ley line was interrupted by a grounding stake during the construction of the apartment complex. A ley line is a spirit's source of all their power (aside from The Almighty) and it is their routes of travel. After trying to scare off Belldandy and Keiichi, the Spirit submits to Belldandy's request for him to behave and resume his spiritual task. Bell recharges the Earth Spirit, and in return, as a favor to Bell, he protects Megumi in her apartment. To hide in plain sight, he took the form of a rat.
Later on, he gets to prove himself when Mara possesses Megumi and enters her apartment. The Spirit realizes this and loses a confrontation with Mara. She turns him into a Sonic the hedgehog doll. He then tracks down Bell to help with getting Mara out of Megumi.
