Keiichi and Belldandy

The key aspect of their relationship is a deep trust, that endures in spite of the obstacles they face, as Belldandy said she will always trust in Keiichi as long as he never asks her to leave, and she has shown that she is utterly faithful to him, expressing no interest in anyone else and stating that she will not do anything that may hurt him regardless of the situation. For his part Keiichi has also shown his faithfulness by resisting the advances of many of the other female characters in the series.

Although actions do speak louder than words, words are important as well, and as a result there are moments where both of them need verbal reassurance of the other's love (both have expressed desires to hear the other say "I love you" at various points in the series)

Belldandy's love for Keiichi is based on the fact that out of all the wishes he could have made he chose for her to stay with him, she also loves the person that he is, his selflessness, and the fact that regardless of the situation he always gives his all (even to the point of possibly injuring his own health).

Keiichi loves Belldandy also because of the kind and gentle person she is, the fact that she's trusting of others and always tries to find the best in those she meets, however while she is very forgiving of others, she often is very harsh on herself. Belldandy attempts to live up to a perfect ideal of a Goddess, only to become disappointed in herself when she fails(as a result of her feelings for Keiichi), however Keiichi loves her unconditionally and attempts to comfort her in those moments. In the movie for example, Belldandy expresses that "there's an ugly part inside of me that wants your love for nobody but myself." Keiichi responds by telling her that "it's not despite that, but because of that, that I love you."
