[edit] Synopsis
Gate has materialized to express her displeasure with the goddesses running the forced open sequence, you know? Keiichi can't wrap his human mind around he's looking at the Gate, and not, as he thought, some gatekeeper. So, Gate has a reasonable reaction by whacking him upside his dome with her key and scolding him for being, well, human. Then, for all of the Gate's vast knowledge, unwisely, turns her lecturing to Belldandy as to why she stays with that "fool". Oh no you didn't?! Gate actually backs down, you know? After tea time, Peorth asks Gate why she went on strike. The tea, you know? Well, not the tea exactly, but data. More data. And not just data in the sense of 1's and 0's, but experience, you know? So, the goddesses show her an array of experiences, but everything they showed her wasn't what she wanted. Gate wants to experience love. There is also a specific "element" of love she desires to learn about, the kiss, you know? The problem becomes the "data" sources she's consulted, which leads to this arc's shenanigans.
[edit] Notes
- Gate found out the hard way, but yah, hot green tea with milk and sugar isn't good.
- I found it interesting that after Peorth passes out from the "lesson" with Gate, the only one not blushing is Belldandy.
[edit] Analysis
At first thought, it may seem odd that Bell stands up to Gate and that Gate seems to actually "know her place" around Bell, considering that it appears that Gate is a very powerful entity. I'm guessing that even though Gate "has always been and always will be", she is subservient to the gods and goddesses.
