[edit] Synopsis
So, K puts the key in Gate, and Belldandy blows up. That's all I'm saying about that part. Moving on. Gate is back up in the sky, and looking like a gate. Time for Peorth to go back to Heaven. Bye Peorth! She's up, up and awa- no wait! Oooowww, face plant on Gate. Ouch. Apparently Gate is unstable after a reboot. There is another way as Gate explains. If Peorth enters her at "200 meters per second with perfect timing, you can avoid the flux in the phase state transfer script, you know". This gives Urd an idea, to reinstate Keiichi's original idea (see Chap 196). Skuld bring out Plan B!
[edit] Notes
- Mmmm, "phase state transfer script", more made up physics (i.e. "things I used to write on my college physics exams").
- The "tank" that appears at the end of the chapter is a German self-propelled (SP) siege howitzer (Mörser) from World War II, known as the Karl-Gerät. There is a 60 cm caliber verision and a 54 cm cailber verision (numbered 040 and 041, respectivley). What Skuld is using is the original model, the Karl-Gerät 040, which had a 60 cm (24 in) caliber barrel. Further more, there were seven types of this weapon, though the seventh was an expierimental version and little is known about it. One through six were named “Adam” (could be either 60cm or 54cm), “Eva” (60cm only), “Odin” (60cm only), “Thor” (either 60cm or 54cm), “Loki” (either 60cm or 54cm), and “Ziu” (only 60cm), respectively.
[edit] Analysis
I would say the only thing worth diving into a bit here is Belldandy's jealousy storm from this chapter. Let me approach this by pointing some things out and reiterating a few points. One, Gate, I surmise, is more powerful than Belldandy (and probably any goddesses). Two, when Bell passively, and nicely, "threatened" Gate not to call K a fool, Gate backed down. Three, Gate really can't do anything else, but be a gate. Simply, she's stuck in her position. She can't run off like the goddesses on "vacation", sans striking.
So, I ask. What did Bell really have to be jealous of? Gate got some pleasure from Keiichi "sticking it to her", but that was, and would be, the end of it. Gate goes back to being some shape in the sky and all is right. Over and done with. For being so patient, she did lose her cool pretty quickly this time, at least I think so. But still, Belldandy isn't completely gullible or oblivious to things of a sexual nature, so thus lead to the jealousy storm. No further comments.
