[edit] Synopsis
Then comes the stories from the Playboy Mansion, a.k.a. part 3. Scandalous! Not really, but this one of the funniest episodes for a reader (poor K). Anyway, Keiichi is able to figure out the whole moon rock thing and produces them as bracelets for the goddesses. Typical Urd shows her appreciation with an ungrateful comment, but Bell reassures K that Urd just has a hard time expressing her gratitude. And we think that's the end of it until, knitting. Urd feels indebted to K, and is trying to figure out how to repay him. Unluckily, she spots Bell knitting, which drives her nuts. So, she taps into her Cupid personality again, and brews up a little some'em some'em. As if that wasn't selfish enough of Urd, she even used today's paper to line her table with to put her chem equipment on. Who could need that right? Skuld comes looking for it and finds it. She does her magician impersonation and ends up spilling it all. After a little quick thinking and too much X-20, she's able to hide her meddling from Urd. Then, Urd is able to sneak her potion to Bell, and Skuld can't say a word. After no immediate reaction from Bell, Urd walks away confused, but something happened. What followed can only be described as Bell acting sultry, and K, once again, showing no spine. Like any good chemist, Urd performed her daily inventory only to find that she was short a few things...not good. After she figures out what happened and confronted Skuld about it, she calculates what exactly she gave to Bell...even more not good. Once again, we are treated to another touching moment between K and Bell, there is a happy ending, no one gets any, and Skuld's punishment is absolutely hysterical.
[edit] Notes
- I wonder if that X-20 was the same stuff Urd used to spike the chocolate in Valentines Rhapsody...we'll never know.
[edit] Analysis
Then once again, we are called to witness Urd's tampering in Bell and K's relationship. Unlike Peorth, who either seems to understand better or is more patient, Urd is trying to get this relationship sprinting before it's even crawling. Peorth at least starts K off with trying to say "I love you." It's not so much that Urd wants to help, it's that she's pushing for something that is obviously completely outside of Bell and K's comfort level.
