WATCHING THE MOVIE WITH NO MANGA BACKGROUND
Watching the movie with no background information or knowledge given to me from the manga, I was , as has been mentioned, surprised by the huge jump in the storyline, compared to what has been portrayed in the anime series. At the moment currently we are in series 2 episode 15. Skuld has only just managed to gain the assistence of her angel, let alone use its power. The film was released a long while before this revelation aswell.
I found that the confusing jump has seemed to give me a little too much insight into the anime series that I have not yet seen and therefore that forwardness has made the anime progress feel somewhat slower.
The reason behind them doing this could come down to the possiblity that in order to gain viewers who have read the manga and are up to date with the goings on in the world of OMG! They could watch this movie and the setting would appeal. Whereas the anime watchers would watch the film gaining previews of things to come.
I would suggest not watching the film until the end of the 2nd series at least if you were contemplating do so.
